Starr and Bob had been ministering, evangelizing, and feeding the hungry through Pat Robertson’s Ministry across the world. All the while, their marriage was suffering. It was disintegrating in front of their very eyes!
When they came home, a couple they had known for some time introduced them to a marriage study group that they credited for saving their own marriage. Starr and Bob attended an outreach, heard testimony after testimony about how seven marriages had been saved and made better after completing the course. The couples discussed, very transparently, the bad choices they had made and the consequences of those choices.
Starr and Bob decided to give their marriage a chance and agreed to take the course and see what happened. After the third set of 13 week classes, their marriage was thriving! They now wanted to give back some of what they had been given.
Bob explained on the air that you can’t get out of a marriage situation that has gone bad by yourself. You can’t solve the problem with the same mind that got you into the situation and you have to be willing to change your mind and be honest with yourself and put forth your best effort to turn it around.
Starr said if there was one word she could share with married couples it would be YIELD. That is the one word we need to make our marriages work. Men can yield and still be the “head of the household.” In fact, it doesn’t hurt anyone to yield to another. Your family will trust in you more as leader of the home when they see that you are willing to yield for the good of the family.
Starr and Bob want to be a blessing to married couples as they share the knowledge they have gained over the years while ministering to other couples. Join them as they interview interesting guests and discuss many aspects of marriage and its difficulties. You will come to understand that only God’s principles can save our marriages and cause them to be as good as He originally intended them to be.
